Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi to Chopta | Overnight Journey
Assemble at the designated pickup point in Delhi / Rishikesh in the evening. Meet your Trip Leader(s) for a quick briefing about the trek and get acquainted with your fellow trekkers. Board the AC Traveller and depart for Chopta on an overnight journey. A dinner halt will be made en route (meals not included). Please note: exact boarding point details will be shared 24 hours before departure. Overnight journey.
Day 2: Reached Chopta | Devprayag – Dhari Devi – Chopta Exploration
Arrive at Devprayag in the morning and enjoy breakfast. Visit the sacred Sangam of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers – the point where the two mighty rivers merge to form the holy Ganga. Continue the journey to Chopta via the revered Dhari Devi Temple, dedicated to the goddess Dhari Devi and set dramatically on a rock in the middle of the Alaknanda river. Arrive at Chopta and check into your scenic dome tent campsite. Spend the afternoon exploring nature with the group – meadows, alpine forests, and stunning Himalayan views. Return to camp for dinner. Overnight stay at Chopta campsite. Meals Included: Dinner.
Day 3: Tungnath & Chandrashila Trek | The Spiritual Summit
Rise early for a breathtaking sunrise experience. After breakfast, begin the trek to Tungnath – the World's Highest Shiva Temple, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,680 m. The well-defined trail winds through dense bugyal (alpine meadows) and rhododendron forests. Arrive at Tungnath temple and pay your respects to Lord Shiva in this ancient and sacred shrine. For those wanting to push further, continue the trek up to Chandrashila Peak (3,978 m) – weather and fitness permitting – for a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayas including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath, and Chaukhamba peaks. Descend back to the campsite. Overnight stay at Chopta campsite. Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner.
Day 4: Deoria Tal Trek & Departure for Delhi
After breakfast, check out from the campsite and drive to Sari Village – the base point for the Deoria Tal trek. Trek up through the dense forest trail to the pristine Deoria Tal, a serene high-altitude lake renowned for its mirror-like reflections of the Chaukhamba massif and surrounding snow-capped peaks. Spend time enjoying the picturesque views and tranquility of the lake. Trek back down to Sari Village. In the evening, depart from Deoria Tal for the overnight journey back to Delhi. Meals Included: Breakfast.
Day 5: Morning Arrival in Delhi | Trip End
Arrive in Delhi / Rishikesh by morning. Disembark with wonderful memories of sacred temples, snow-capped summits, mirror lakes, and the timeless spirit of the Himalayas. Your 4N/5D Chopta – Tungnath Trek with Make My Expedition comes to a memorable close. Safe travels until the next expedition!
